Who We Are & Our Approach

What is Sexuality?

SACRED Intimacy is a Holistic Sexual Wellbeing Education website aimed at an adult Christian audience across Australia, single, dating, or married. It is sensitive to the faith and needs of a Christian audience, while delivering evidence-based sexual wellbeing information.

Content spans sexual anatomy and physiology, sexual functioning, relational and sexual skills, pleasure, navigating sexual relationships, and improving sexual wellbeing specifically in a Christian context and culture.

By providing accessible, faith-sensitive education, SACRED Intimacy aims to empower Christians to make informed decisions and strengthen their sexual and relational wellbeing.

To support this process, SACRED Intimacy offers the S.A.C.R.E.D. Intimacy Guide. The S.A.C.R.E.D. Intimacy Guide is a tool for reflection and critically thinking through sexual decision making. It is intended to enrich sexual relationships, and to support individuals and couples in confidently navigating their experience of sexuality.

Theological Posture and Inclusion

Recognising and respecting the diversity of Christian beliefs, SACRED Intimacy does not intend to be a source of Scriptural, Theological, or Spiritual authority. At the same time, Christian faith underpins SACRED Intimacy and is intrinsic to its essence and ideas.

SACRED Intimacy warmly welcomes Christians of all denominations, backgrounds, life stages, relationship status, sexual orientations, gender expressions, and those that identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. We hold the tension that individuals will have differing theological convictions. The invitation is for each person to walk their own journey of diligently wrestling with their faith and expression of their sexuality in a safe, grace-filled space.

Our Founder

SACRED Intimacy is founded by Justine Gilliland a Christian and a Sex Therapist in Australia.

As part of her final project for her Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health), Psychosexual Therapy, Justine developed SACRED Intimacy and the S.A.C.R.E.D. Intimacy Guide, with a heart for nurturing the sexual wellbeing of the Christian community.

Justine offers Sex Therapy from a Christian perspective to adults across Australia via telehealth. To engage Justine in Sex Therapy visit her website Wellbeing Counsellor, where you can book an online appointment.
